Basket strainers are the devices which mechanically remove suspended particles from process liquid. Basket strainers are installed to into the vessels / housings & untimely providing protection for the rotary equipment.
Basket strainers have more contaminant/particles holding capacity than Y strainers, and generally have less of a pressure drop, which is why they are ideal in liquid applications.
